----------------------------------------------------------------------- She's right tho, if Yakone was killed instead this war Amon started would never have happened.
Now don't get me wrong here I'm not calling Aang a wuss or anything, I totally respect his decision to stand by his morals throughout his entire life. But the fact that Yakone was pretty much the source of the war in Republic City makes me think, what would happen if Aang DID go ahead and kill him? Repulic city would certainly be a different place that's for sure! Here are a few things I think would be different:
-Without Tarrlock there to manipulate the council so easily I believe Tenzin would have a more powerful position in the council.
-Obviously there would be no equalists.
-Sato would not be such a jerk under Amon's vengeful influence, he would never even think to consider killing his own daughter.
-Would Korra still run off to Republic City? I'm honestly not entirely sure of this, but I like to think she still would. Being sheltered her whole life she would be eager to go see what's out there.
THAT'S ALL I GOT, what do you guys think would be different? 8)
hah I love this, Kyoshi is awesome and I actually like how pragmatic she is
that said they may have still been some form of equalists but maybe less organised since they didn't have a figurehead...that actually might have been just as hard to deal with but who can say
Still the fact remains. You kill one lunatic, there are fifty more ready to take power. It's easy to play on the fears, and superstitions of the masses. If bender, and non bender tensions where that high, another person would have taken advantage regardless of Yakone's death. The Bolsheviks came to power in Russia, by playing on the failures of Czar Nicholas the second. Mussolini came to power in Italy, by playing on the fears of anti-communists. Hitler and his Nazi Party sized power in Germany, by manipulating Germans into believing that Jews, and other minorities where the cause of Germany's aliments. And so on, and so on. Evil prevails when good fails to act, and the sins of the past, always effect future generations. There is no way around it, but to study the mistakes of those who came before, and try to build toward a brighter future.
My sister said stuff like this when we watched LOK If anybody has ever watched or read something with time travel, you know that it is never easy And I love Amon and Tarrlok, so I'm glad they were in the series :3 But of course past Avatar always leaves current Avatar some problems Aang inherited Kyoshi and Roku's problems, and Korra got Aang's leftover problems too Can't the world stay peaceful! Jeez I feel like I keep having to clean up this mess every lifetime. . . .
