She's right tho, if Yakone was killed instead this war Amon started would never have happened.

Now don't get me wrong here I'm not calling Aang a wuss or anything, I totally respect his decision to stand by his morals throughout his entire life. But the fact that Yakone was pretty much the source of the war in Republic City makes me think, what would happen if Aang DID go ahead and kill him? Repulic city would certainly be a different place that's for sure! Here are a few things I think would be different:

-Without Tarrlock there to manipulate the council so easily I believe Tenzin would have a more powerful position in the council.

-Obviously there would be no equalists.

-Sato would not be such a jerk under Amon's vengeful influence, he would never even think to consider killing his own daughter.

-Would Korra still run off to Republic City? I'm honestly not entirely sure of this, but I like to think she still would. Being sheltered her whole life she would be eager to go see what's out there.

THAT'S ALL I GOT, what do you guys think would be different? 8)

This is on tumblr now too btw: [link]

Yeah, I'll admit; LoK, unlike TLA, never did give us a reason to think there would be negative consequences to just outright killing Yakone. But at the same time, in between his bending getting taken away and discovering his children were waterbenders, there was a moment in time where he legitimately tried to just let go of his old life and ambitions. Had he someone in his life that new him for who he was and was prepared to advise him against his later actions, when those ambitions resurfaced, ho knows what might have been.
